The project preserves the long-standing fishing traditions of the bay by providing new fishing facilities and related interpretive art. The site design reconnects the east and west bays via a new pedestrianized boulevard. Intimately scaled retail outlets and cafes, reminiscent of traditional, regional architectural styles, are gathered around new promenades, open lawns, and shaded plazas.
As the Middle East regional manager and business developer, Chris' roles included design and project oversight for TDIC's Al Bateen Wharf mixed-use development.
Conceptual design services were provided in close collaboration with Northpoint architects of South Africa and with a multi-disciplinary team of local architects and engineers.
