In collaboration with Ann Beha Architects and Howard Stein Hudson civil engineers, Chris was the design lead and project manager for New England Conservatory's (NEC) Student Life and Performance Center site and NEC/Northeastern streetscapes.
The public realm design transforms parking lots and back-of-house streets into a new urban precinct with gateway streetscapes. The project includes new tree-lined, paved, shared-use streets with custom granite and wood furniture. The public realm experience is both unique for each institution and cohesive in its urban setting.
The New England Conservatory streetscape design was inspired by analog and digital music notation, while the paving geometry for Northeastern University was drawn from the historic architectural detail of St. Andrew's Sports Arena.
